Dear World Families:
Today, World Academy started CST testing for grades 2 and 3. I am extremely proud of how focused all of our students were during the test. Congratulations to all of our 2/3 students and their teachers. Please make certain to tell your child just how proud you are of them. Please make certain that your child either eats breakfast at home or comes to school early enough to eat in the cafeteria. I will be standing outside the cafeteria, as I do every year, making certain that everyone has breakfast prior to the tests starting.
Our Pep Squad did a wonderful rally last week to get all World Academy students ready for the test. At the pep rally we explained that all students could help in making certain that our second and third graders succeed. We will have certificates and ice cream for the kindergarteners and the first graders. We will have ice cream and pizza for the second and third graders.
Our Spring Festival, sponsored by EBAC was on Friday, April 27. Good times were had by all. The food was delicious and the games were a lot of fun. Thank you to all those who helped to make the festival a huge success.
Our final Walk-to-School function is coming up this Wednesday, May 2. Please come and participate.
This Friday, May 4 is our Cinco de Mayo festival from 4-5:30. World Academy has been chosen, by AT&T to receive free books for our students and pizza. There will be lots of music and dancing too.
Please mark these dates in your calendars:

Please make certain that your child wears a uniform: white, blue or gold shirt; blue pants or blue skirt. We are selling our EFC t-shirts and sweatshirts. The t-shirts are $5.00. Sweatshirts are $10.00. Winter jackets are on sale for $5.00 in the office.
It is important that your child attends school every day. We know that students who attend school regularly are higher achievers than those who have many absences. If your child is ill, please call the school at 510-904-6400 and let the office know.
Sincerely,
Susan Sperber
Principal
